The Art to Live／生きる芸術
Our mission is to bridge between art and daily life. By creating, we make people’s lives richer and we open for them the possibility of an alternative way of life. An expression aimed to touch people’s minds and to make them happy.
わたしたち檻之汰鷲（おりのたわし）は、生きることを芸術にするために活動しています。表現によって人の暮らしを豊かにし、さまざまな生き方の可能性を伝えること。その表現は、人の心を動かし愉しませることを目指します。
1. Survival Art／サバイバル・アート
We create an artwork to get our daily bread, by using the materials and tools the environment gives us.
そこにある環境と材料と道具で、作品をつくり日々の糧を得ること。
2. What is “value”?／価値とはなにか
We discover the value of discarded things, of things which were forgotten and of things we take for granted. And we set that value without having to use an economy based on money.
捨てられたもの、忘れられたもの、当たり前のことのなかに価値を発見すること。また、貨幣経済以外の価値をつくること。
3. Art of Living／暮らしの芸術
We discover the art in our daily lives. It’s art in close connection with food, clothing and shelter. We have to learn to be satisfied with what we’ve got. In short, it is “Less is more”.
衣食住に伴う日々の暮らしのなかに芸術を発見すること。足るを知り欠くを楽しむこと。
4. Social Statue／社会彫刻
By observing the society, we find out its needs and discuss them with people. We take action and express ourselves. As a result, the society will take the shape of an artwork, a statue, and will become visible for everybody to look at.
社会を観察し、よりよくするためのニーズをみつけ、人と関わり行動し、そのカタチをあらわすこと。
5. Seeing／見ること
Let’s not be deluded by appearances, let’s touch the real thing. And we must be careful to pay attention to intangible things.
外見にとらわれず、対象に触れること。見えないものを見る心を持つこと。
